Ugadi is the New Year and is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm across the state of Andhra Pradesh. The day is of great significance as it signifies a fresh start to all the ventures and endeavors.
The day derives its significance from Hindu Mythology and it is believed that Lord Brahma, creator of the Hindu Pantheon, started creation on this day. The festival comes after Holi, the festival of colors. It marks the onset of spring, the first season of the year, a season when everything is lush, green and verdant. Fresh green leaves replace wilted ones while flowers bloom in full glory. Spring signifies a fresh lease of life which is evident in Mother Nature as a fresh lease of life dawns on most of its creation.
Women use different flowers which bloom during this time to decorate their house. They also use sweet smelling Jasmine to braid their hair. On this day, people wear new clothes and many clean and white wash their houses to mark the beginning of a new year. This also symbolizes cleaning the house so that Goddess of wealth and prosperity blesses the house and its dwellers.
On Ugadi day, people wake up before the break of dawn and take a head bath. They decorate the entrance of their houses with fresh mango leaves. The significance of tying mango leaves relates to a legend. It is said that Kartik (or Subramanya or Kumara Swamy) and Ganesha, the two sons of Lord Siva and Parvathi were very fond of mangoes. As a result the people decorate their houses with mango leaves as an auspicious gesture.
Close to the heart on this day is mango as not only the recipe but also its leaves grace the entrances of people’s house. Several delicacies are prepared on this day and the one which could be said to be a ‘trademark ‘ for this festival is Ugadi Pachchidi. This is prepared out of new jaggery ( derived from the fresh produce of sugarcane ) raw mango pieces , neem flowers and new tamarind. This recipe reflects life as it has a mix of sweet and sour things, so the most opportune moment to taste life is on the New Year day!
Different types of sweets are also prepared on this day along with some special culinary delights which rejuvenates the taste buds to last for a long time! People visit their relatives and exchange greetings on this day. The day symbolizes a fresh, happy and auspicious start to any new venture or effort.

HOLi, the festival of colours, is celebrated in the North of India with great fervor and enthusiasm. It generally falls in the month of March and marks the onset of spring bidding adieu to a spell of biting winter. It also signifies the onset of a fresh lease of life as the landscape gets draped in shades of bright green.
The mythological significance being Lord Vishnu slaying Hiranyakashapu who tried to harm and force his son Prahalad a devout devotee of Lord Vishnu to accept him as the master of the entire world.
People celebrate this festival by splashing colors on each others, visiting their near and dear ones and exchanging sweets. The festival is about colors, a celebration of good over evil and lot of joy.
We at snehaH too are celebrating Holi in a memorable way, by acknowledging the efforts of our users and launch of few initiatives.

1) IBM --- Right now this is the most firing company for IT professionals.
In the last 6 months, this company has fired nearly 20% of their employees because of BG check and performance issues. This is the most insecure company from an IT professional's point of view. They don't have any strategic plans at HR policies regarding employeesecurity.
No appraisals (maximum 10%).
2) TCS --- Previously its an government IT Company . Now a days TCS also becoming firing IT company. Recently they fired on 500people.( the people below 2 years of experience) and TCS losts so many projects recently( especially British Telecom Projects).
3) Dell : -- Recently they fired 600 Employee From Banglore.
4) Citi Group :-- Recently they fired 400 Employee From India & 2500 Employee from outside india.
5) Accenture --- This is second top most firing company. The firing rate is around 5%. This depends upon outsourced projects; they have a unique system where Accenture development centers around the world bid for a project coming into the company. Currently Philippinescentre is taking the cake and the Indian centers are in a firing mode.
6) WIPRO --- Firing people with very frequent back ground checks and firing them with out even experience letters and relieving letters (will mention as terminated from services)but will promise the employees that they will retain them. After the project is over they will fire away. Will threaten of criminal cases against such employees if they oppose the move and has also filed against some.
7) Intel --- Recently joined the league. Running in heavy losses, hence firing 3000 employees in the Banglore center in a phased out manner.
8) CTS --- Has a steady firing policy (checking the Educational background and previous employment and also employee performance in work). In a Recent HCL walk-in, around 50% attendees were from this company. Sadly the I-pods have not helped them.
9) CSC --- Excellent package but fires folks in Background check and those on bench regularly. Recently fired 400+ employees from its subsidiary Covansys.
10) Satyam --- Currently stopped firing. The Attrition rate is very high. No firing from 2005 until now when 1000 employees were fired in Hyderabad.
11) Patni --- They fired so many employees that currently they are going to Fir Again by conducting Test like IBM in March..... Very high attrition rate.
12) Keane India ---- This USA based company is always involved in firing employees. Although they proudly say that they dont have hire and fire policy. Recently they fired java and as400 professionals after which most of the employees have started to pack their bags. Employees change this company within 1 year.
So take care before accepting offers from these companies.
